The owner of Dragon Fashions started tattooing in 1980 and worked a few years for the now legendary Mickey sharpz.
In 1984, he opened his first shop in Selly Oak Birmingham in close proximity to the gates of Birmingham University where he built up a strong trade, being at that time one of just six Birmingham studios .
In 1991 he took over another studio in Rubery, Worcestershire, about 5 miles from his Selly oak shop and added it to the "Dragon Fashions" name,
John has always enjoyed traditional, colour tattoos but has adapted with the changing trends in tattooing and enjoys being a talented all rounder, as you will see from his gallery.
In 2013 John was voted in as commitee member and secretary of the British Tattoo Artists Federation, A body of established british tattoo artists, that have their own health and quality guidelines, that go well in excess of any that local councils set out and whos goal it is to keep tattooing a safe and respected lifestyle to be in. their guidelines can be found and read on their webb site linked below
